Senior Architect, Associate
Dean came to Coburn in September 2018 after an 18 year tenure at a firm in Massachusetts where he gained a broad range of project experience and a deep understanding of the various phases of a project, design challenges, and construction techniques. An architectural design must embody a sense of place and time. Project types range from schools, private custom homes, mission driven institutions such as churches and museums, commercial tenant improvements and multifamily housing.
After graduating from Arizona State, Dean’s career started in Scottsdale, Arizona as an intern for a sustainable design firm that specializes in alternative construction materials and techniques. Ever since, he’s had a keen interest in sustainable design and the use of energy- and resource- efficient materials and building technologies, including straw-bale construction, insulating concrete forms, and post tension concrete. In his spare time Dean enjoys riding his motorcycle in the mountains and traveling the world.
