Senior Architect
David’s firm of 30 years, Arcadea Architecture, a boutique architecture and interiors firm in Boulder, recently merged into Coburn. Arcadea is best known for beautiful custom homes and remodels along with multi-family, office, and retail projects. Clients give David high marks for being able to translate their needs into simple, tranquil spaces that are beautifully efficient and graceful, too. He loves modern design but, has also spent many years studying historic styles and renovating existing structures. Much of David’s free time has been spent promoting smart land use and design quality over more than two decades of service to non-profits and the City. He is currently Chair of the Boulder Urban Renewal Authority,served10 years on the Design Advisory Board, and was Co-Chair of the Boulder Chapter of the Urban Land Institute. David spent his first 10 years in Ghana, and has since traveled extensively throughout the world studying urban places. David has MDesS from Harvard, BArch and BEnvD degrees from University Minnesota, and a diploma in specialized architectural studies from the University of Tianjin, China.
