We celebrate vision, and have consistently pioneered environmentally sound methods since our founding in 1985. The result? Healthy and productive places that connect people and sustain the earth. Our portfolio includes new homes and renovations, residential developments, affordable housing, commercial buildings, tenant finish, urban infill and mixed-use urban centers. All planned, designed or built with the end user in mind.

Our History

For nearly 40 years Coburn has created distinctive, cutting-edge homes, offices, business and communities in Boulder, the Front Range, Colorado and nationwide.

Starting with infill design-build houses in Boulder in the 1980s, Coburn has grown into a premier local homebuilder, an award winning national architectural firm, and an expert and respected development-services provider for everyone from Colorado homeowners to national firms. We have a skilled home building division with master craftspeople and project leads, a 30+ person architectural group with the capacity to handle almost any scale job from multiple city blocks to single family homes, and financial and development consultants to help lead your project to success.

Over the years we have been on the cutting edge of advancements in sustainability, quality, design, mixed-use and new urbanist placemaking, zoning and building code advancement, and construction techniques. We have won more awards than we can count, have created hosts of Great Places, and most importantly, have helped all our clients, from individual families to national developers, to attain exceptional projects with highly positive outcomes.
